Vacation Souvenir

The idea to begin writing a blog came to me on a warm morning in August. Returning to Chicago after a weekend camping trip with my family in northern Michigan - I settled back into the excitement and hustle of city life, in my quiet apartment sipping fresh coffee out of my new robins-egg blue coffee mug. It's a sturdy, slightly over sized mug; white on the inside, perfect for revealing the exact amount of cream to coffee ratio. On the outside it reads: trust the process. Courier font, lower case letters, ending in a period. just the way i like it. After commenting on my affection for this mug, I put it back on the shelf (as I do with just about everything these days) and walked away. My mom however, insisted that this could be my "vacation souvenir" and purchased it from the eclectic, store-owner's, daughter.
This mug, my vacation souvenir, has become a motto for me in this season of my life. trust the process. Words offering great challenge, requiring an incredible amount of patience. And more so, they are words calling for me to give up control - reminding me that God's plan is perfect and far better than my own.
So. Welcome. I hope in reading this blog, you will feel challenged and inspired, but mostly I hope you feel human. I hope to provide space for you to delve into yourself and examine what is your life process. What are the things you need to let go of and simply trust? What is it that you need to let go of in order to gain what is truly important to you?
